Main Areas of Activity

• Local Government archives service. Cork City & County Archives is the designated repository for the archives of Cork City Council, Cork County Council and various other local government bodies, including Town Councils, in County Cork. Advice is provided to Local Government offices regarding their records and archives.
• We preserve and make available local archives donated to the City and County. Including archives from non-governmental sources, for example, personal papers.
• Provision of catalogues, guides and finding aids to the archives held.
• Provision of supervised reading facilities where documents can be consulted.
• Public exhibition and display of documents
• Facilitating academic research, and local and family history research
