Research Room: Open by appointment Tuesday to Friday, 10.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m. (including lunchtime), to all bona fide researchers. Readers' ticket required. For further information see Using the Research Room.

General office and exhibition space: Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m

The Seamus Murphy Building is located at 33a Great William O’Brien Street, Blackpool village, in the northside of Cork city. The building is approx 1.25 km from the city centre (a 15-20 minute walk). The Christchurch building on South Main Street is no longer in use by the Archives.

Public Transport

From Cork city centre (Merchants Quay, near the Bus Station at Parnell Place), the No. 3 bus serves Watercourse Road, which is a 2 minute walk from Great William O’Brien Street.

Taxis are available from the bus and train stations and throughout the city centre. Current one way fare from the city centre, during office hours,  is about 4 - 7 Euro.

Parking

The Archives is unable to directly provide customer parking. However, on street parking is available in the Great William O’Brien Street area. Parking disks are available at newsagents and other outlets, or you can register with ParkMagic (Helpline: 0818 22 01 07;  Internet: www.parkmagic.net ; E-mail: info@parkmagic.net  )

Blackpool Shopping Centre and Retail Park is an 8-10 minute walk from the Archives. There are also a number of multi-storey car parks in Cork city centre, the nearest of which is Carroll's Quay Car Park, Leitrim Street (Blackpool Bypass) near Christy Ring Bridge adjacent to Cork Opera House.
